Ursula Roberts-Allen, MSN, CCRN
Executive Director

Ursula Roberts-Allen, MSN, CCRN, Executive Director, joined HMI Home Health with 15 years of service in health care. Ms. Roberts-Allen started her career as a staff nurse in the ICU and Recovery Room, then held positions as Clinical Educator, Home Health Nurse, and Nurse Manager. She has worked in the District of Columbia at Providence Hospital, Washington Center Hospital, and DC General Hospital, as well as Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.

Most recently, Ms. Roberts-Allen served as Project Manager/Consultant with INOVA VNA Home Health where her job focus was organizational and process redesign for greater efficiency and profitability. She also worked in the wireless communications industry where she was Senior Manager, in the customer care department, for the launch of new products and services.

Ms. Roberts-Allen keeps current in her bedside nursing practice by working an occasional weekend as a critical care RN through a nurse staffing agency.


Ruth Joseph, MBA
Finance Officer

Ruth Joseph, MBA, is Finance Officer at HMI Home Health. She joined HMI Home Health late in the year 2000, just as the Medicare prospective payment system (PPS) was introduced to home care nationally.

Prior to joining HMI Home Health, Ms. Joseph was Secretary/Treasurer of the Southern Asia Division of the Council of Seventh Day Adventist Hospitals in Tamil Nadu, India. There she was responsible for human resource development, financial management, procurement of hospital equipment and wage administration to support twelve health care facilities in a nationwide system in India and Nepal.

At HMI Home Health, Ms. Joseph played an integral part in the implementation of the prospective payment system and the changeover from manual to electronic Medicaid billing. Her in-depth knowledge of financial systems management enables her to modify systems and introduce efficiencies which allow HMI Home Health to remain current in a complex and rapidly changing industry.

Ms. Joseph earned an MBA with a concentration in hospital administration from Madras University in India.


Kaprina Johnson, LPN
Staffing Coordinator

Kaprina Johnson, LPN, is Staffing Coordinator for HMI Home Health. Ms. Johnson has over five years of staffing experience. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse prior to entering the field of staffing. Her success with staffing is due, in part, to her familiarity with the DC metropolitan area as well as her in-depth knowledge of patient care and the rules and regulations of Medicaid and Medicare.

Currently, Ms. Johnson runs the Personal Care Aide (PCA) Program for HMI Home Health. She is responsible for all non-clinical issues related to placing PCAs with patients.
